Suggestions required!

First of all, no photo today. Sorry! But I do need some suggestions from my local Perthites.

I always told myself that when I lost enough weight to be moderately happy with the way I look, I would have some professional photos taken. My dream was always to have a retro/horror shoot - picture 50's housewife doing household chores with a gory twist. So in a kitchen holding up a serving platter but instead of a roast it would be the head of a plastic baby doll; in an old bathroom scrubbing away a blood ring from a bathtub; rolling up a hall runner with a pair of feet sticking out of the end. You get the gist.

The problem I'm having with this idea is I don't know anyone who lives in a house suitable for such a shoot. It would need to be older with high ceilings and an old bathroom and they would have to not mind me traipsing about with fake blood.

So, the other idea I had in mind was a Steampunk shoot. I've been adding to my collection of late and have a delivery of Steampunk accessories expected this week. Yay for goggles and crazy guns and mini top hats!

Now for the suggestions - I need ideas for suitable Steampunk themed areas around Perth where I could take pics. So far I have :

Mundaring Weir (specifically the Number 1 pump station but the dam wall itself too)
Jacoby Park - pipeline
John Forrest National Park - train tunnel

Aaaaaand that's it. The tunnel would be great but it's a bit of a hike to get to it and dressed in full Steampunk getup may be a little difficult.

So, suggestions? Needs to be kind of retro and Victorian and industrial. Okay...GO!

Flocking awesome

I seem to be forming a habit of posting a couple of days worth of stuff at once but I figure better that than nothing, yeah? Today's post has a flocked theme.

So, the first dress is much, much prettier than any picture can paint it. It's the Flocked Rose Skater Dress from CityChic.

It is the most amazing red colour and it's lovely to wear. I do wish that I was rich enough to have a professional photographer take these pics sometimes because it honestly looked much nicer on than this photo suggests. I know I constantly whinge about Christian's skills at taking pictures and really, I'm lucky he even takes them at all (he thinks having photos taken of oneself is the height of vanity). But still, I feel like I'm doing a poor job of representing such pretty dresses.

The dress I wore today you have seen before. It's the H&R London Dark Lily dress.

I love the pattern of the flocking so much. The closer you look, the more you see. There's roses, and anchors, and stars, and birds, and leaves, and bows. From afar it just looks like a pretty plain black dress but up close it's wonderful.

I wore it with my purple petticoat today which not only adds flounce (and I always say a gal can never have too much flounce) but also a dash of colour when the dress gets whirled around a little.

Not too sure yet what I'm wearing tomorrow. I have a chiro appointment which calls for a top and bottom so I'll most likely drag out a skirt and top for you all :)

Steampunk Friday

I have always loved the steampunk look. It's growing more and more popular here in Australia and I started to feel like I'd be able to get away with wearing it without looking like I've come straight from a dress up party (though I guess that could be my default look?). I've been adding a few items to my wardrobe and thought it was time to start bringing them out.

I kept it basic for work, so not to scare the locals.

I got both the skirt and the top from Corset Story. They sell both branded wear and their own brand of clothes and both of these pieces are their own brand. The skirt looked amazing on the website and I tossed up for several weeks before buying it. It's stupidly expensive and there is no size guide on the site for their own branded stuff so I was left guessing what size to get. In the end, I guessed right and it fits, but I'm glad I got the skirt as part of a deal (buy 2 get 1 free) as there is no way on earth it is worth the amount they're asking for it. It's very thin cotton (almost see through) and although it's made well enough and has pull ties built in so you can adjust the front length, it's just not the sort of quality you'd expect when laying down that sort of cash (for those of who who haven't clicked the link, the standard price is $105AUD). They sell several other sorts of skirts, in a similar price range and after getting this skirt, I wouldn't even consider buying one of the others.

The top is much better value and comes with a detachable collar so you can dress it up or down. I chose to forgo the collar as it's bloody hot! Not exactly the best thing for a Perth summer! The top also doesn't come with a size guide but at least it gives you an estimate of what AU size is the equivalent. I'm wearing the 3XL (an Aussie 18) and the skirt is an XL (which fits fine around my waist but I wouldn't be able to wear it low on the hips which means you would hardly ever see the button detailing).

I have several under bust corsets and I can't wait to wear them with this outfit to give it a definite steampunk flare.

We went out after work and I wore a dress that I also got as part of the same 3 for 2 deal. The AU site doesn't seem to stock the dress anymore by the UK version of the site does. It's a Darkstar short layered dress and photos just don't do it justice. The layers are just gorgeous and it's so detailed.

I thought I'd pull out the first pair of 'alternative' shoes that I ever bought. They're the Demonia Dynamites and they're not only comfy and short gal's best friend, but they have that awesome star shaped hole through the sole that adds to the fun.

A little bit sophisticated

I must admit I was a little surprised by the myriad of comments I had regarding this outfit when I wore it to work the other day. Apparently it was plain and boring and not you. I couldn't really understand as I don't always wear really out there clothes - a lot of my outfits are quite normal. But my work mates seemed to feel that business wear was not my style at all.

I did some stair training after work so before I got changed into my exercise kit, I got one of my mates to take a few pics of me. I guess the office environment isn't really helping my cause much. Apologies for the closed eye shot below, but I thought you might be able to see the outfit a little clearer in that one.

I've always been a fan of the office chic look. When I was a kid, I dreamed of working in the city and dressing in cute office wear every day. I used to wear shirts and vests a lot when I was in my late teens and since that feels like yesterday to me, I guess maybe that's why I thought this look was quite normal for me and why it's so foreign to everyone else?

Anyway, moving on. I got both the dress and the top from Target. The dress is just a basic suit style dress and was stupidly cheap. I was expecting to pay $60 or more for it and was chuffed when it was only $30. The blouse is something I've been looking for for ages now but have had little luck in finding. You'd think a simple white blouse with capped sleeves and buttons to the top would be quite common but the style of late seems to be all 3/4 length sleeves and the open collar look.

I wanted the buttons to the top so I could wear one of the numerous neck ties I have. You can find them now on ebay for only a buck, and with free postage they're an absolute steal. I used to sell them at a market stall and back then they were never that cheap but they seem to have grown in popularity lately (you see them being sold at pop up jewellery stores all over now) so hence the price drop. They're actually for boys, but I find them cute and quirky. I wore my robot one and how can an outfit be boring with a robot tie??? I don't think it can!

Bats and crosses and fleur de somethings...

There are some dresses that aren't quite made for women who have hips. The Gothic Ivy dress by Banned Clothing is probably one of them. I know Christian takes a shocking photo and that the dress really didn't look as bad as it does in the picture...

...but still, it looks far better on the model than on me. Though I guess her height and lack of wobbly bits helps as well as her lack of hips.

Anyway, despite it not being the most flattering dress in the world, I absolutely adore this dress. The fabric is amazing. At first it looks just like a normal brocade but the more you look, the more details you see. There are crosses and fluer-de-lis and bats! Super adorable bats!

It's a really quality garment and I thought it was an absolute steal for the price. I can see myself wearing this a lot in the future. Beserk say it could take pride of place in a Gothic wardrobe and I totally agree with them, though I would amend that to eclectic wardrobe!

Sweet apple acres

Hey there folks, how's it all going? It's muggy and stormy here. If we get many more 38C days with thunderstorms one may begin to suspect we've moved to the Kimberley without knowing it...

Today I went all 1950's housewifey with the Francine dress by Hell Bunny.  And those are apples, not cherries. You have no idea how many people have told me they like my cherry dress...

This dress is really sweet and really innocent, which is why I'm planning on wearing it in a photo shoot I want to do soon. I've always wanted to have professional photos taken once I lost enough weight and I'm almost at the point where I'm thinking 'Fuck it, why not now?". But you know me - I don't want any normal, boring photos. I'm thinking sweet and retro with a dash of horror! Wearing a petticoat and an apron whilst scrubbing a bloody tub clean, or rolling a body up in a carpet, or serving up a severed head on a platter. You know, that sort of thing...

And now that I've got you checking that your doors are locked, I'll sign off now! Nigh nigh xxx

Gothic lace

Sorry it's been a few days, guys. My hubby was generous enough to pass on his tummy bug to me and I've been a miserable cow the past half a week. I was off work on Wednesday and I figured you wouldn't appreciate a pic of me in my jarmies.

Today's choice of dress is a bit of an odd one. It's the Mia dress by H&R London that I picked up from my fave online store, Beserk. The front is laced up and hides a red lace panel and you can lace it tighter or looser, depending on how much of the red you want to show through.

I found that if I had it loose, the ties at the bottom sat rather funny and droopy and it looked odd so I opted for the tighter lacing.

I must admit, I'm not really sure about this dress. I loved it on the model, and it really is a gorgeous dress but the lacing and the way it sits over the bust is just a bit weird. I have small shoulders as well so non-adjustable straps have the tendency to slip down during the day. I did wear a shrug which covered that a little but still. I know I will definitely wear the dress again, but I know it's also not going to be one of my favourites.

Just short and sweet tonight guys but before I love you and leave you, I'm going to shamelessly plug my new FB page just to go off on a non-fashion tangent. It's dedicated to my writing, specifically the novel I am in the end stages of completing. The story is written, it's just the finicky editing and proof stage I'm at now. It's still probably five or six months off self publishing but hey, may as well start getting the word out there! What better way to do that than to share the first chapter! Have a read and tell me what you think :)

Quadruple the fun

Lots of pics for you today, you lucky things you. And lots of links to pretties. Hurrah for pretties!

Okay, so Friday I wore my new Sourpuss Hellbilly Gingham dress. Christian was mid-game when I got home and I had limited time to get in, get changed, and get out for a girl's night out. To avoid disappointing you, and breaking my solemn Pinkie Promise, I knew I had to get a photo of some description for you so you get a boob and head selfie.

This dress is gorgeous but is a tad booby. I was a little self conscious about it all day but only because I was at work. If I had been in a non-professional environment, I probably wouldn't have worried at all. It's not like the girls are well out on display, but there's definitely a generous hint of cleavage. Of course, the eye may have been drawn from this fact because this dress makes no secret of the fact that the person wearing it is a woman. It screams HIPS!  I have no problem with my hips (hell, you all know of my fondness for petticoats) but if you're more hourglassy than the model, the dress isn't going to sit as pretty as it does on her.

So after the Friday selfie (a phrase I never thought I'd find myself using - in fact, just when did that become a phrase?) I did a rushed wardrobe change, actually threw on some makeup for once, and hightailed it out of the house to meet up with some work mates for a night out at the Pirate Bar. Arrrrgh! I decided to wear another new dress (the perks of being a DINK with no other hobbies) and in retrospect, the H&R London Flocking Dress may have been a little overdressed for a bar but that's kind of the story of my life.

We had a great night out, even though the cocktails were hideous hipster concoctions, they ran out of churros by the time we were ready for dessert, and the singer I'd dragged the girls along to see had bought his skanky girlfriend along. I guess you can't win 'em all. Here's a pic of me and one of the girls, just because.

I know I've harped on about this before, but posting so many pics of myself in one post is really hammering home to me that I really need to learn how to pose for pics. Seriously, I always look so awkward! I mean, come on, look at this one...

I never know what to do with my hands. Hang by my side like an ape? Hands behind my back like a school photo? Hands on hips when I really should put my hands on my waist since my hips are so much farther out than my waist and it looks odd. I need some direction from Zoolander or something!

Anyways, I don't have a link for the above dress, as I've had it for years and years and years. I got it at Target and at the time I only just squeezed into it and then I put on more and more weight and it went into my closet and was always my goal dress. The great news is now it fits. Hurrah! The bad news is that it's very, very see through. Any light at all and you can see straight through my legs. Christian says it's not as bad as I think it is and that I'm just being self conscious but I tend to rarely wear it and only when it's really warm.

Onto the past pic of what I'm wearing right now -

This is my Dead Riding Hood tee and as my pasty legs have been attacked by mozzies recently, I figured I'd wear some tights under my shorts today so I didn't scare small children. Having said that, Red Riding Hood holding a severed wolf's head may scare them anyway so...redundant?

This was a long post. I should have had cupcakes or something for those of you who made it to the end but I'm not quite that organised. Oh well. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend peeps xxx

Better late than never

I didn't post on Tuesday night because I'd had a fucking horrible day and my scowl would have caused the camera to break. I felt it best not to inflict that onto any of my darling readers.

Wednesday I came home, had pics taken and then had to rush out to dinner to celebrate my sister getting old. By the time we got home I was pooped and went straight to bed (what do you mean you didn't realise you were reading Nanna Weekly? I thought that was obvious by now...)

To make up for my lapse, I thought I'd astound you with a double post tonight. You would be so overcome with the sheer number of photos that your disappointment in me would be wiped from your mind and unicorn farts would smell like rainbows and all would be well with the world.

But then I forgot to take a pic when I got home so yeah, that didn't quite work as expected...forgive me? Why didn't I remember? you ask  in a shocked and outraged voice. Well, I'd had my hair cut and had gotten bored of red and was in such a hurry to dye it that it just slipped my mind.

Hey look over there! A puppy!

Awww, look at her! She's licking my leg. She's so adorable! No one could stay mad at her fur mummy, could they? Didn't think so!

Anyways, the dress I got from Jay Jays, a shockingly tween store that I would normally avoid like the plague except that they embraced the retro look long before it was cool. So for years now I've gotten awesome stuff there like Snoopy and Batman shirts and other awesome things.

I was also wearing my light bulb earrings that I promised to get a better photo of a while back. My friend Jenny got them for me for Christmas and they brighten my day (pun most definitely intended).

I had a Beserk delivery arrive today which means 2 things - 1) I had to promise Christian that I would refrain from buying more clothes in the near future (little does he know I have a few things already on their way to me muhahahahahaha) and 2) as I'm going out to tomorrow night after work I Pinkie Promise (cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye) that I will have two photos for you tomorrow - what I wore to work, and what I'm wearing out.

See, you can never stay mad at me ;-)

A little bit of Camelot charm

Today's dress comes from Curvy Clothing, an Australian site that has sizes from 6-30 but specialises in plus sized hippy clothing.

One of the cons of the site is their styles come and go very quickly. Several years ago  I ordered two of these dresses - one short sleeved and one long sleeved. Not long afterwards I had lost enough weight that they were too big and I wanted to buy another one in a smaller size. Upon looking I discovered that this style had disappeared from their site and I assumed they no longer stocked them.

I happened to be browsing the site just before Christmas and found that they were now selling the dresses again. I ordered the one I'm wearing below.

I went to find a link for the dress and have discovered that again this style has disappeared from the site. They do however have the long sleeved version available to pre-order.

I understand that if an item is out of stock, you can't buy it but I prefer to have an 'Out of stock - click to be advised when restocked' button you can press. If they had one of these buttons, I would have ordered another of these dresses in a different colour as I adore it. Instead, they lost a sale.

I'm also wearing my Cherry Hot Chocolate flats, not that you can really see them in this pic. I think I've shown off all four pairs of my HCs and will now have to get very creative to keep you all interested. Perhaps tomorrow I'll wear slippers to work?

Time for tea

Just a super quick post tonight before I head off to get absolutely hammered. It's been a rather shite day and my vodka is calling me.

I've not been having much luck finding a link for the dress I wore today. It's a Princess Highway Tea Dress that I got at Dangerfield but the closest I can find to it is this one.

The pattern isn't quite the same but it's the same but it's the same style so near enough eh? What I lack in results I make up for through effort!

I also wore my Hot Chocolate ladybug flats :) Super adorable!

Hope you guys have an awesome weekend, I'll try and post but if not, see you Monday x

Retro pinup

I was positive I had posted here before about this dress but I can't find it at all. That means I've either not posted it or am just really crap at searching for stuff. Both seem likely...

Anyways, this is the Sweet Pinup Dress from ChicStar in blue (you can tell the colour better if you click on the pic).

I find that it can be worn either dressed up with pearls and heels to a wedding or if you team it with some super awesome PacMan jewellery and some funky flats you can wear it to work and still be overdressed. Oh well. It's not a surprise to anyone anymore that I overdress for work on a regular occurrence...

The only downside to this dress (with all ChicStar clothes it seems) is that it's very, very big across the shoulders. I know I seem to be complaining about this issue a lot lately, but I'm allowed to as this is my blog so suck it up, alright? I'm not very handy with a needle and thread but I managed to put a few stitches (darts?) in to close it up a little so I flash the goods a lot less now. Probably a good thing as I'm not very professional at the best of times and getting the girls out at work would probably get me that sexual harassment claim against me that I just know is coming.

On a side note, Molly seems to be finding her way into almost all of my photos lately. She really must love you guys a lot! Not too sure why ;-)

My post tomorrow may be a little late (Saturday instead of Friday night) as I'm going out but I'll get it done eventually x

So many ruffles

Aloha cousins.

I'll apologise straight up today for the potato quality of the pic. The lighting is terrible but Christian can't seem to take a focused pic when he uses the flash so the trade off is a clear pic with poor lighting. I'm actually wearing a top and a skirt, not a dress but good luck making that out.

The entire outfit is from Milanoo and the skirt is the one that I've accidentally managed to order again...Well done me. The top is super old, I've posted wearing it before and I think it photographed just as poorly then. I guess dark tops aren't always going to show up well.

You also get bonus corgi because Molly loves you and wants to say hello.

I had a chiro appointment after work today and afterwards I popped to the shops quickly and became distracted when I went past Lovisa. They were having a huge sale and it got quite dangerous. I got everything in the pic below for $25 so I'm calling it a bargain win. I did object to one thing - the Pac Man jewellery was part of the Lovisa Kids range and I told the assistant outright that Pac Man is not just for kids.

This is a rambling kid of post today, isn't it? I don't think my brain is quite working today. Oh well.

Pirate puppies!

Today's post is bought to you by super cute puppies!

This is the Pillaging Puppies dress by Sourpuss that I bought from my new favourite online store, Beserk. It's covered in super cute puppies and cutlasses. I mean, how awesome is that???

I forgot to take a pic of them but I'm also wearing my cute light bulb earrings that a very dear friend got me for Christmas. I promise to get a pic of them soon for you.

Now it's time to share a secret. I had a parcel arrive from Milanoo today which had two blouses and a skirt in it. Imagine my reaction when I realised that in the order I placed the other day (they were having a super sale!) I may have ordered the same skirt...

Oops.

Shhh don't tell Christian!

Florals and lace

Just a quick post today and nothing too exciting.

This dress I bough from Crossroads but I don't have a direct link as they no longer sell it. Their styles seem to come and go very quickly and once they sell out of an item, it's rarely restocked.

When I first saw this dress I loved the fabric and the small panels of lace on the sleeves but debated if I should try it on or not. It looked rather shapeless on the rack and I thought it would look like a burlap sack when on. I was surprised when I tried it on however as I found it to be rather flattering. I originally got it in a size 16 but after wearing it properly found that it was a very generous fit and was too big. I bought another in a 14 and it was much better, though now that my boobs have disappeared, it's still a little gapey at the bust. This is an issue I never thought I'd have but never fear, the dress I'm planning on wearing tomorrow I almost burst out of so you'll have something to look forward to ;-)

Mish mash of styles (and a hose)

There's pros and cons to working in an office all day. Pro - I love the people I work with and we have an awesome time. Con - I miss being out on the road and seeing my clients. Pro - when it's 44C I get to be inside in the air conditioning. Con - sometimes the aircon harks back to its arctic roots and you freeze.

Yes, it's summer. Yes, it's bloody hot outside. Yes, I wore jeans and a coat to work today. No, I did not melt.

In the Boxing Day Sales I picked up this Phaze  Light Oriental Coat from Corset Story for $70. Hurrah for discounts! The full description is Black and Red Light Oriental Coat but I left that part out because this coat is definitely pink, not red. But you know, it's pretty so I don't particularly care much.

I did have a few people tell me I looked like I was dressed for a night on the town, not to work, to which I replied 'Have you seen what I wear???' lol I guess they consider a coat to be much fancier than a three layered tulle petticoat and retro dress.

The thing I love about this coat is the mish mash of styles. The pattern and fabric is oriental but the style is that Victorian/Steampunk cut. I wore it with jeans for a more casual look but you could really dress it up too. The only issue I have with it i that I may need to have it taken in across the bust area. For once my boobs are too small for something. Whodathunkit? I think the main problem is I'm not overly broad across the shoulders. The puff capped sleeves don't sit on my shoulder but on my arm. I'm wondering if I could get that fixed as I reckon that would then tighten it across the bust. Anyway, thoughts for another day.

I'll leave you with the following conversation I had with Christian today about a hose. Enjoy.

Cheap as chips

On more than one occasion I have been accused of being frivolous or extravagant with my spending. Some people obviously take offense to the amount of money I spend on clothes. Besides the fact that a) I've lost 32kgs and have had to update my wardrobe so I have clothes that fit and b) I don't have children, nor do I have expensive hobbies, I don't smoke and rarely drink so I actually have the money to spend on clothes, I really think that it's none of their damn business what I spend my money on. However, I have always been one to care too much what others think of me so today I thought I'd show an example of one of my bargain outfits.

Please excuse the background - the boy has gone to the cricket and as I was running out the door after work I asked one of my colleagues to snap a pic for me.

This dress was $5 from Kmart. I have no link for it, nor does it have a fancy name. It's just the cute checked dress I picked up when it was on sale. I have the same dress in red with white cherries on it but I didn't get that on sale - I paid the exorbitant price of $15 for it *gasp*

The choker necklace I got from ebay for $1.99 with free postage. Yet again, I have no link for it but if you search for jewellery on ebay and check the box 'free postage' and set the price to a maximum of $2 you will be astounded at the range that comes up. Be warned though - it's dangerous! You can't seem to stop at one item...

The shoes are my regular cloppers that I wear so often I've more than gotten my money's worth from.

And there you have it. Scarlet stye on a budget.

1970's Corporate with bonus corgi bum

I've found that the style of the clothing I have in my wardrobe has been expanding lately. I discovered Dangerfield - a retro-inspired hipster sort of shop recently and I've bought a few of their pieces. The styles I've gotten have leaned more towards the 70's than my more regular 50's look and I must say, it really throws people! I wore the Lena Floral Tea Dress today and although it was not the first time I wore the dress to work, I still received many comments about how different it was to my regular style.

I didn't really think I had a regular style but to be fair, to most people Lolita and 50's retro and Victorian gothic probably all look similar. Close enough anyway to be lumped into one category. And this dress is a very different style to those. One nurse described me as looking very 'corporate'. It must have been the collar because I doubt many corporate types wear Horror Lolita shoes to work...

Everyone said they liked the dress though so different or not, I'm happy it still looked okay.

I'm not one hundred percent sure if my posts will be very regular in the next week or two. Molly (the rest of the corgi that belongs to the bum in the bottom left of the photo) has been declining lately. That horrible decision may be just around the corner and the last thing I'll feel like doing is posting about trivial stuff like fashion. I'll keep my fingers crossed that her good days continue to outweigh the bad but she's 16 with a mountain of health issues so that day can't be too far off :(

Super simple summer

It was another hot day in Perth today with the temp reaching 44.4C (112F I think) and so all around, people were melting. I was fortunate enough to be at work and working on the ground floor. This is because the aircon there is always lovely but also because the aircon upstairs broke so they sweltered while us ground dwellers worked in cool, crisp bliss!

When it's so hot I try not to wear anything that requires a petticoat as three layers of tulle can get rather warm but today I threw caution to the wind. If the aircon on the ground floor had broken I would have been buggered but luck was on my side.

It didn't quite hold however as the camera on my phone isn't the best so the first pic the boy took was rather dark and with the flash on it's a little blurry. I've posted both pics so hopefully you'll be able to make out enough. If not, I do have a pic on imgur of me trying on the dress a while back.

It's the Secretary Circle Short Sleeved dress by Tatyana and I picked it up from an awesome little alternative store in Vancouver (I can't remember the name sorry) but when I got home I looked up the brand of the dress to see if they sold more stuff. They do and it's all terribly expensive but not as much as I paid at the brick and mortar store (I paid $150CAD and cried when I converted it to Aussie). For such  basic dress, it's one of the most expensive ones I've ever bought. I blame being in holiday mode and having not gotten anything for myself at the time. If you're a XS though you're in luck because it's now on sale on the site! Huzzah!

Anyway, here's the pics.

A word of warning - the sizes from this brand will make you horribly self conscious. I'm wearing a size 3XXX and I'm a 16 Aussie. That means a size 10 is a L. They do an XXXS as well. Their XXS is equivalent to a US size 0 so fuck knows how people get smaller than that. I guess famine really is an issue in Russia :/

My shoes are my new favourite brand - Hot Chocolates. I have four pairs of the Chocalitas now and I adore them. If they weren't so expensive, I'd buy more. They are the most adorable things EVER! These ones are the Honeys and yes, they're supposed to be mismatched. They're fun and funky and so comfortable.

The belt is an elastic retro belt by Hell Bunny and is bloody hard to find anywhere. I eventually found them at Tiger Milly, a UK store. Postage is a bitch so I got the belt in a couple of different colours, and maybe a dress as well. You can't blame me for wanting to maximize the postage!

Petticoats can be expensive if you buy a brand name one ( H&R London or Hell Bunny ones will set you back about $50) but I found these on ebay. I've owned a Hell Bunny one before and I couldn't even tell the difference. Three from ebay cost the same as one from a brand which means I get to buy different colours! Yay!

That's it for now guys. I'll try and come up with a more colourful outfit for you tomorrow :)

Tartan and Tutu

It's a lazy Sunday afternoon and we're heading out to the movies to see The Hobbit (I am not attracted to a dragon, I am not attracted to a dragon, I an not attracted to a dragon *hears Smaug speak* dammit I am attracted to a dragon. Bloody Benedict!). This means I must shed my jarmies and put on real clothes. It's 39C in Perth today which means I can wear a short dress and not look like a hooker. Yay! I'm pretty sure Christian doesn't agree with that statement though as he hates short dresses. Not just on me, but on anyone. The perfect hem length in his opinion is mid shin so he's not too happy about my choice of dress today...

It's the H&R London Red Tartan and Tutu dress. As always, the angle in which Christian takes these pictures makes it seem like I have no legs but trust me, I shall not be bending down at all today. It comes to mid thigh and is a little more risque than I usually wear without stockings on underneath, but fuck that, it's bloody hot today.

On a side note, I really need to learn how to stand properly when having pics taken. I always look so awkward. I am not the most natural of models...

My earrings I don't have a link for as they were a gift but I adore them and they're awesome so I wanted you to see them.

My lovely friend who bought them for me got them abroad and a quick googley search doesn't come up with any matches (pardon the pun) so you might have a hard time finding them if you were after some :(

Anyways, the sexy baritone of a rumbling dragon awaits me so have a great weekend!

'ello again

So...long time no see. How've you been? Do anything exciting for new years? Nope? Me neither. How are the kids? Fine? I see. Work? Also good? Uh huh. How bout that local sporting team? Anyway...

I think we should just gloss over the past seven months. I'd love to say that I didn't update this blog because my secret life as a spy kept me too busy, or that you know, I had a life, but sadly neither is the case. I'm just darn forgetful. I get home from work, I change into my jarmies, I potter about, then I remember I was supposed to have a pic taken and update. By then I can't be bothered changing back. You should be rather glad I haven't subjected you to 210 photos of my jarmies.

Anyway, one of my resolutions this year is to update this blog more often. I had the heart wrenching news a while back that my work place is planning on introducing a compulsory uniform. It's still six or so months away but still, time is short! I won't promise a post every day, but I will promise most. Deal?

Today I wore the Falling Roses Dress from CityChic.

I got this dress from their Harbour Town store (oops, I mean Water Town. WTF?) but it's now even more on sale! I absolutely adore this dress. It's comfy and well made and just beautiful. The only issue I have is that it's a little gapey at the front, but that's what happens when you lose half your boobs to weight loss :( I'm just glad I still fit into their dresses. It will be a sad day for me when their XS is too big for me. A lot of my fave clothes have been from CityChic.

I thought I'd take some close-ish pics of my jewellery as well since I love what I'm wearing today.

This is my glow in the dark T-Rex necklace. I got it from Spencer's when I was in Canada. They no longer sell it, but they do have a whole lot of other awesome things. I could spend hours browsing their online store. I did a little googely search for you if you were after your very own T-Rex though and I found it here.

My earrings I don't have a link for as they were a gift for Christmas but I wanted to show them off because they're awesome. Miniature Rubix Cubes! Squee!

That's it for now my loves, but it feels great to be back! I have some lovely pretties on their way to me thanks to the Boxing Day Sales so I'll have lots of new things to show you soon!
